I have ALWAYS had a passion for art. I grew up in small mid-west town in what seemed like a "Mayberry" upbringing. I watched the world changing around me on TV, radio and magazines. I was totally amazed with the radical changes in music and the mind-boggling art of the 60's and 70's.
I drew alot of portraits and mock posters of my musical heroes of the day. Although, I never really played an instrument...music became a strong second love.

In 1972, I moved to Colorado to go to Art School. Following art school, I began working as a commercial printer, but soon realized I lacked the interest in mechanics to excel...and machines bite fingers, which I planned on keeping. I evolved into other areas of the trade.

I met my wife in Colorado and began our family life together. 2 grown kids and 4 grandsons. We lived in Western Colorado til 1987. My last project in the mountains was my poster for the Grateful Dead concerts in Telluride. We moved to Oregon, where I took a job with a large printing company for nearly 15 years. A full time job and raising a family pushed my art to a back seat...doing just what I felt like doing and word -of -mouth projects only.

In 1988, I created what would become my most widely recognized illustration...American Relics, as a magazine cover. Following a legal battle over unauthorized use of the design...I helped establish Art Law, which now protects the rights of other artists' nationwide.

Artistically...I guess, I never settled into a 'niche'. I love the challenge of different and new subjects and styles. That's why my work ranges from commercial graphic design to portraits, to architectural...to rock and roll. I love the creative freedoms which rock art has offered. I've also experienced photography, sign design and painting, screen printing posters and much more.

Following a lay off from printing in 2002, I decided to devote full time into my art business. I still do a wide variety of projects, but am focusing more on my Portraits and the Music and Events territories.

Without question, I feel like I'm designing some of the best works of my life with my projects and anxiously anticipate the "next one!"
